OddLot Entertainment is a Los Angeles-based, development-oriented film production company, headed by Gigi Pritzker. The company produces and arranges distribution for quality, commercial film properties for both the domestic and international markets. OddLot recently produced DRIVE, directed by Nicolas Winding Refn and starring Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Albert Brooks, Bryan Cranston, Christina Hendricks and Ron Perlman. The film was in competition at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival with Refn winning “Best Director” for his work on Drive. FilmDistrict handled US distribution. OddLot recently had two films in release: RABBIT HOLE and FROM PRADA TO NADA. RABBIT HOLE is based on the Pulitzer Prize winning play of the same name, is directed by John Cameron Mitchell and stars Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman, Aaron Eckhart and two-time Academy Award winner Dianne Wiest. It premiered at the 2010 Toronto Film Festival, and was acquired by and distributed by Lionsgate. Kidman received both a Best Actress Golden Globe and Academy Award nomination for her work in the film. FROM PRADA TO NADA, a Latina ‘Sense & Sensibility,’ starring Camilla Belle, Alexa Vega and Adriana Barraza was distributed by Lionsgate’s Pantelion. The film has won numerous awards including an ALMA Award to Alexa Vega for “Best Actress”, an IMAGEN award to Adriana Barraza for “Best Supporting Actress” and the "Película Más Padre" (“The Most Awesome film”) Award from Premios Juventud. Past films produced by Pritzker include THE WEDDING PLANNER and festival award-winning films GREEN STREET HOOLIGANS and MEAN CREEK.
Next on OddLot’s slate is ENDER’S GAME, the highly anticipated feature film based on the award-winning novel Ender’s Game written by Orson Scott Card with the filmed adaptation written and directed by Gavin Hood (X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, “Best Foreign Language Film” Academy Award winner TSOTSI). K/O Paper Products, OddLot Entertainment and Digital Domain are production partners on the film, with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman producing via their K/O Paper Products banner, Gigi Pritzker and Linda McDonough producing via OddLot Entertainment, along with Orson Scott Card, Lynn Hendee and Robert Chartoff. The film will be executive produced by OddLot’s Bill Lischak, K/O’s Mandy Safavi, Digital Domain’s Cliff Plumer and Ed Ulbrich. Summit Entertainment is co-financing and will release the film domestically March 15, 2013; and EINSTEIN, the definitive Albert Einstein biopic. Written by Stephen Schiff, the original screenplay draws from Einstein materials that are exclusively licensed to OddLot from Princeton and Hebrew Universities, as well as the Walter Isaacson biography, “Einstein: His Life and Universe.” Isaacson will consult on the project.
Additionally, OddLot recently created Quick Draw Productions, a new development and production joint venture with acclaimed maverick filmmaker Robert Rodriguez along with co-producing partner, Bold Films. The production shingle will develop, produce and independently finance films action-oriented commercial films, which will either be directed and/or produced by Rodriguez.
