Odd Lot Entertainment, founded in 2001 by Gigi Pritzker and Deborah Del Prete, develops, finances, produces and arranges distribution for commercial film properties in the $5-$60 million range, with box office viability in both the domestic and international markets. The company finances its activities through a combination of private equity, tax incentives, foreign sales, distribution and co-production structures, and various forms of debt.
Projects are acquired only after developing an individual strategic plan that focuses on financing, marketing and release elements. Odd Lot¹s long-term strategy is to build an asset-based company by owning and controlling its development process and actively growing its library of titles.
Currently, Odd Lot has the highly anticipated THE SPIRIT in post production.
The film is based on the comic series created by American graphic novelist Will Eisner. Written and directed by Frank Miller (SIN CITY, 300), the film stars Gabriel Macht as The Spirit, Samuel L. Jackson as his main nemesis The Octopus, Scarlett Johansson as the beautiful yet dangerous Silken Floss, and Eva Mendes as the colder-than-ice Sand Saref. THE SPIRIT is co-produced and co-financed by Lionsgate Entertainment, which will release it in the U.S., Canada and the UK. Odd Lot International is handling foreign sales, and Sony has acquired multiple territories, including most of Europe, and plans a day-and-date release with Lionsgate January 16, 2009. Also currently in production in Louisiana and other parts of the South is writer/director Michael Meredith¹s THE OPEN ROAD, starring Oscar-nominated Jeff Bridges, Justin Timberlake, Kate Mara and Mary Steenburgen.
